The Basics
MANAGEMENT REPORTER
- ROW DEFINITION
- A row definition is a report component, also called a building block, which specifies the contents of each row in a Management Reporter report. The row definition can be used in multiple reports.
- COLUMN DEFINITION
- A column definition is a report component, also called a building block, which defines the contents of columns in a report. Like row definitions, a basic column definition can be used in multiple reports.
- OPTIONAL: TREE DEFINITION
- A reporting tree definition is a report component, also called a building block, which helps define the structure and hierarchy of your organization. It is a cross-dimensional hierarchical structure based on the dimensional relationships in your financial data. It provides information at the reporting unit level and at a summary level for all units in the tree.
- REPORT DEFINITION
- A report definition is what brings the components or building blocks all together to form the report. In the report definition you can specify the report date, output and distribution preferences, rounding, printing options, and more.
- WEB VIEWER VS. REPORT VIEWER
- Web Viewer – Opens up the reports in a web browser. By default, generated reports open in the Web Viewer. Includes the ability to view charts, add/view comments, drill down to account level, export to Excel and more. More and more features get added to the web viewer in each update.
- Report Viewer – Contains the report library, which stores all versions of the reports and includes the ability to create charts, drill down to transaction level, add/view comments, export to Excel, and more. The report viewer has more features than the web viewer.
